EurAdopt 2016 General Meeting

The biannual General Meeting of EurAdopt was held on June 3-4, 2016 in Slot Zuylen (Utrecht, the Netherlands),

soon after the very successful 2016 EurAdopt Conference. Over 40 representatives from 24 member organizations attended the meeting where matters of common interest in intercountry adoption were discussed. The assembly appointed the new Executive Board composed, until the next General Meeting in 2018, of Angelo Moretto (Italy) (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) and Lars Ellegaard (Denmark) (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ). The new Council, that includes one representative per country, was also appointed. The objectives for the next two years are: strengthening of the relationships with all stakeholders in intercountry adoption, promote and exchange experiences regarding post adoption services advocating an effective framework for post adoption services, improvement of coordination of EurAdopt member organizations’ activities, recruitment of new members in Europe, and improve the structure and functionality of EurAdopt Governance. The General Meeting also underlined the importance of a transparent and timely monitoring and control of the Accredited Bodies by the National Central Authorities
